About OneFreeTools

A small, opinionated tool desk for everyday work.

OneFreeTools is an independent project that publishes free, browser-based utilities and the articles that sit beside them. We started with the tools we ourselves kept retyping into Google. The catalog grew from there.

Mission

Tools that respect your time.

OneFreeTools exists because the alternative — switching between heavy desktop apps, copy-pasting through three browser tabs, or hunting for a CLI snippet — is slower than a small page that focuses on one task and runs the moment you land on it.

Each tool is paired with a short, original article that covers what the tool does, how to use it, the workflows it fits, the mistakes that trip people up, and the questions we hear most often. The article is there to make the tool useful, not to inflate the page.

The catalog grows by adding small, focused utilities rather than by re-skinning the same idea. Every page tries to earn a permanent tab in your browser.

Principles

Four small promises we hold ourselves to.

  • 01

    One tool, one job

Every page focuses on a single, well-defined task. Tools that try to do everything end up doing nothing well.

  • 02

    Browser-side first

Whenever the task can be done in the browser, we do it there. Faster results, less data movement, fewer privacy questions.

  • 03

    Free, no sign-up

No accounts, no quotas, no paid tiers gating the core feature. Funding comes from lightweight ads — never from selling user input.

  • 04

    Original writing

Each article is written specifically for the tool it sits beside. We do not recycle boilerplate or paraphrase competitors.

Who runs the site

Built by a working indie team.

OneFreeTools is operated by an independent team of working writers, marketers, and developers. We use these tools every day inside our own projects, and the catalog reflects what helps us ship faster.

Editorial

Articles are drafted, edited, and reviewed by humans. We use AI assistance like a research intern — fast at scaffolding, never the final voice. See the Editorial policy for the full process.

Engineering

The site is built with Next.js, runs as static pages, and is served from a global CDN. Every tool ships with no external dependencies beyond the browser.

Funding

OneFreeTools is supported by Google AdSense and similar networks. We never sell user input, charge for core features, or gate tools behind a sign-up. See the Privacy policy for advertising details.
